Note that it doesn't say "The iTunes Music Store is being updated." That's a pretty clear sign to me that not only are they going to add movies, it's also now just going to be the iTunes Store.

Oh please! I think that statement would be better targeted at the people who engage in this childish behaviour. I was just the recipient, also they weren't total strangers, but they weren't people that I know either.
Also, quite a few people in this thread say that these phones are the same price, well one of the main points of one of these guys was that he paid �100 for his brand new Desire and is on a �18 a month contract. In all honesty, that is a lot cheaper than any iPhone deal out there.
Try going outside for some fresh air. Take a deep breath and enjoy.
It's nice that you enjoy your phone so much but there's more to life than sharing this love on internet forums.

I didn't use the CD. The poster said they got the CD from the hospital with the scans on it, and then reviewed the images on the iPad.

In personal experience, most of the Apple "haters" I've known have fallen into the category if they could afford an Apple product, then they wouldn't hate.
Hating something is easier than openly admitting "I want that but cannot afford it", so by creating a hate figure out of the company/products, it makes it easier for the person to "accept" that they will never own the product they secretly lust after.
Cognitive dissonance is easier to "harmonise by hate" (see the oxymoron here?) than to accept with an honest mind, just like some people deal with buyer's remorse by telling themselves how much they love their new product. I was a Mac-hater long before I even knew that the price was higher for Macs than for PCs, it goes back to horrific experience with a G3 iMac, a hockey puck mouse and OS 9...

No. A new market has been opened by Apple. That is as far as it goes. An iPad is not for everyone. Tablets will never kill off Laptops or Desktops or Servers.

Seems to be a strong update, unlike SL. SL was more a plumbing change for many things (IMO) and Lion will be making strong use of those changes. For that reason, that's why I believe it'll cost around 100 bucks.
I actually think Apple is going to surprise us with the price. Like they did with Final Cut Pro X.
Who knows? Maybe it'll be 29$ upgrade from SL.

I am not sure if the pricing reported earlier for the videos is correct, but I did want to comment on one thing...
If the pricing IS correct ($9.99 for iPod version, $14.99 for TV version, $19.99 for both) then the movie studios who didn't sign on because they didn't feel those prices were fair can go and "F" themselves. :)
Essentially $20 bucks for 2 electronic versions with no DVD packaging, manufacturing and shipping to deal with could make a lot of money for the studios. To say that price is "not good enough" on their behalf just smacks of greed.
Whether $20 a pop is a good price for the consumer is debatable...it depends on their tech level. Those of us reading these forums mostly would rather go buy a new DVD in the store for $20 and then rip it ourselves for our own use. But many others don't want to be bothered, and would be happy to have pre-ripped versions for download and avoid ammassing an even larger collection of DVD boxes taking up space in their bookshelves.
Just like with new Mac computer releases...Apple comes up with options designed for the entire base they plan to sell to, not solely based on "power-user" needs/desires. $20 a pop is NOT "too expensive" for pricing for many...it's not a DISCOUNTED price, but it's a fair price and if the movies need to sell for $20 to get all the studios on board (in the future, if not now), that is more important than trying to be an uber-discount movie sales site.

The radiation dosage from any properly maintained active scanner is still orders of magnitude less than what you get from a 4-hour flight at 10 km. Go ahead and opt out of your full-body scans... if you're doing it for the "health" reason you're tilting at a very small windmill.
Just read this letters from 4 UCSF professors to Dr. Holdren (advisor to the president) regarding the as of yet not proven harmlessness of the X-ray backscatter devices (http://www.npr.org/assets/news/2010/05/17/concern.pdf). Just to name a few: low dose radiation with high dose administered to the skin. Real photon Flux is not known. And - who is controlling the scanners and how to you know they are properly maintained? I am a radiologist and nuclear medicine physician and we have to report every dose the patient receives (X-rays and nuclides) - here you don't know the deposited dose. The letter is a good read and should be made much more public. The link is through NPR thankfully...

There are completely different cultural factors that play into this as well. You cannot blame guns for this, you have to blame people. There are underlying issues that cause this type of violence that we are not dealing with. Guns are not the problem, our culture is. Treat the disease, not the symptom, or your results will continue to be the same.
We can do both at the same time. Refusing to have very strict gun control is a result of the culture problem you described. Guns are enablers for our worse instincts in our culture. Why enable them to have such destructive consequences?

Purchase file from iTunes. Image your HDD compare the two images. The new key(s) (and the file itself) must be in the bits that changed.]

I can tell you what I would do, I would start changing a whole load of bits on your harddrive, not because it's necessary, but because it makes it that much harder for you to find the stuff that changed.
It's a moot point anyway. Any file that you download from iTunes is going to be at least a few megs in size. The key is going to be somewhere in the order of a couple of hundred bytes. Which bytes amongst the several megs are the key? They aren't necessarily contiguous, they're almost certainly encrypted by another key hidden elsewhere in the system, and they may even be fiddled by a virtual machine after decryption, just to muddle things up a little bit more.
Finding the approximate location on the HD is simple. Fiding the actual key in the right order is an extremely difficult task.
As someone who does this for a living, can you comment on my read of the hacks that have been released in the later post http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=2917258&postcount=96. It still seems to me that where DRM has been hacked has relied on key retrieval or finding the weak spot in the chain.

They are the only two attacks possible - grab the data after the program has decrypted it for use, or find the key/algorithm so that you can do the decryption yourself. At the moment the first attack is nearly trivial to implement, although that will change a bit when the manufacturers start moving on to a "Trusted Computing" style platform. All you need to do is write your own audio driver that sits between the computer and the real driver. It picks of the data and stores it as it's sent to the speakers.
The second solution is much more difficult, but far more elegant. It allows you to keep intact all of the metadata associated with the file (track name, lyrics, album name etc etc). BUT, you have to be clever enough to recover the key.

At about 2am try downloading itunes manually from the itunes page. It will still say 6.x but it may very well be 7. That should keep you occupied for a bit :D Twice i have noticed they upload the new version but keep the previous version number on the page until its announced. I had a play with 5 and 6 about half an hour before they were officially released. :D
